High chromium tool steel with good corrosion resistance and high purity, especially suitable for polishing. Due to these characteristics, it is suitable for processing corrosive plastic materials, PVC, etc.
Features: exceptionally high polishing spin, good hardening, good dimensional stability during hardening, corrosion resistance, resistance to water, steam, various organic acids, nitric acid solutions, carbonates and similar media. The surface is mirror-finished, with very high corrosion resistance, very high purity and uniform microstructure after VAR (vacuum arc remelting) or ESR (electroslag remelting), therefore well polished and iron-free, very stable mechanical and physical properties.
Collex (HQ) die steel is suitable for galvanic corrosion operations, acidic plastics and molds that require a good polish. It is mainly used for PVC mold making, corrosion resistance, filled molds including thermoset molds, long life molds such as disposable tableware molds, optical parts, camera and sunglasses production, medical containers, optical discs and storage trays, corrosion resistant materials, etc.
